CRAIG THATCHER SALUTES HENDRIX AT OPERA HOUSE
Well-known Lehigh Valley blues guitarist Craig Thatcher brings an explosive tribute to Jimi Hendrix to the Mauch Chunk Opera House at 8 p.m. on Nov. 13.
Along with bassist/vocalist Wayde Leonard and drummer Don Plowman, Thatcher has put together an exciting program that revolves around Hendrix classics like "Purple Haze," "All Along the Watchtower," "Hey Joe" and "Little Wing," while also doing a spectacular service to Hendrix's spectacular jams such as "Machine Gun" and "Who Knows."
Together, they pay homage to the guitarist many consider to be the finest in rock history with this spectacular show.
On Sept. 18, 1970, Hendrix died in London, at just 27 years old. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame describing him as "arguably the greatest instrumentalist in the history of rock music." Virtually every major guitarist cites him as a major influence, while his passing left an enormous void.
