Published November 12. 2015 04:00PM

Fifteen local artists will display and sell their work during the Carbon County Art League’s Autumn Fine Art Show Friday through Sunday at the Osprey House of the Lehigh Gap Nature Center located at 8844 Paint Mill Road in Slatington.

Friday kicks off the free event at noon until 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

An artists’ reception will be held Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m., and will include refreshments and a 50-50 drawing during the meet and greet for the local talent.

Artists from the surrounding areas will include Carla Binder’s photography; Fern Breininger’s oil, charcoal and pastel pieces; and Wayne Yurchak’s acrylic creations, to name a few.

Most pieces will be for sale to help raise funds to benefit the nature center, a nonprofit that works to preserve wildlife habitats.

The art league is also a nonprofit organization created to support local artists and encourage the development of artistic expression in all forms throughout the county.

The art league holds monthly workshops and artistic presentations along with several art shows annually.
