Published November 12. 2015 04:00PM

Tamaqua police have filed charges against Jessica Accardi, 33, of 224 Pitt St., Tamaqua, following an incident on Nov. 7.

Officers were dispatched to the Accardi home at 8:13 p.m. for an intoxicated woman causing a disturbance. When officers arrived they assisted the father of Accardi's two children, ages 3 and 4, with placing them safely in his car. He was preparing to transport them to his home on Cottage Avenue.

Accardi came out of her home when she saw the officers, and was screaming and yelling. At one point she grabbed the microphone on an officer's chest and screamed into it. She exhibited several signs of alcohol intoxication.

Officers arrested her and took her back to the police station. She was placed in a holding cell for several hours as officers waited for her to sober up.

She was transported back to her home at 3:19 a.m. with non traffic citations for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
