Burglary investigated at lumber company

State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating a burglary that happened between 11:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at Palmerton Lumber, 380 Sand Quarry Road, Lower Towamensing Township.

Police said an unknown criminal forced entry to a side door of the shipping office and attempted to force open two other buildings. The criminal also broke into a silver Honda Civic that was located on the property, and drove it with intent to possibly steal it.

Police said the suspect stole numerous keys from the office building belonging to trucks and machinery on the property. Police said the suspect worked alone for approximately two hours without notice during lunch hours.

The unknown criminal is described as being a 20- to 30-year-old white male, wearing bluejeans and a woodland-type camouflage shirt with a large orange black logo on it, and a tan or camouflage hat. He is about 5 foot, 6 inches to 5 foot, 10 inches and about 170 pounds with dark full hair. His face appears to be shaven or with a light scruff.
