A Carbon County driver was taken to a Lehigh Valley area hospital following a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 9:59 a.m. Tuesday along McKuen Way in Penn Forest Township. It was one of two crashes reported by state police at Fern Ridge.

Troopers said Judith A. Pantaleo, 73, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2015 Buick Regal eastbound when she attempted to set the cruise control of the vehicle. The car drifted onto the right berm and struck several trees before coming to rest in a ditch.

Pantaleo was taken by Lehighton EMS unit to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. The car was towed from the scene.

The second crash occurred at 3:01 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of routes 209 and 715 in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Talisa M. Galloza, 24, of Stroudsburg, and Daniel E. Kaufman, 20, of Brodheadsville, were both northbound on 209. Kaufman, operating a 2006 Subaru Legacy, stopped and was attempting to turn north on 715 when his vehicle was struck in the rear by Galloza's 2005 Honda Accord. No one was injured. The Honda had to be towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Galloza for following too closely.
