Vehicle stop leads to drug charges

A vehicle stop by members of the Pocono Mountain Regional police resulted in drug charges being filed against a Monroe County woman.

Police said a vehicle was stopped along Route 940 in Mount Pocono about 2:21 a.m. on Sept. 23 for an equipment violation. At the stop police detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A consent search was made and found was a glass pipe and marijuana in the possession of passenger Lisa Yacynych, 45, of Cresco.

She was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia then released.
