Driver cited after Schuylkill crash

One of two drivers involved in a crash that occurred at 11:53 a.m. on Sunday along Route 61 in Norwegian Township, Schuylkill County, has been cited.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Michael Cummings, 25, of Tempe, Arizona, was driving a 2015 Honda Accord in the left northbound lane and approaching a traffic light at Tunnel Road, he stopped for the light. His vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2003 Ford E350 van driven by Eugene C. Moyer, 56, of Pine Grove. Moyer attempted to stop but could not in time.

Moyer and his passenger, John Thomas, 25, of Pine Grove, and Cummings, and his passenger, Dennis M. Schuster, 48, of Saint Clair, were all not injured. The Ford had to be towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Moyer for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
