A vehicle stop in Monroe County has led to the arrest of a passenger on drug counts.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said a vehicle operated by Terence Lowry, 19, of Philadelphia, was stopped along Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township about 12:10 a.m. on Sept. 21 for traffic violations.

During the course of the stop, police performed a consent search and recovered several small containers of marijuana. A back seat passenger, Justin Tirado, 18, also of Philadelphia, took ownership of the marijuana.

Police said Tirado was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police added that Lowry was charged with several motor vehicle code violations.
