Monroe woman is theft victim

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating a theft/forgery incident that happened between noon Sept. 1 and 8 a.m. Oct. 6 at a residence on the 2000 block of Mountain Road in Jackson Township.

Police said during the above period of time, the suspects were welcomed into the residence and went to the victim's bedroom and stole two checks from a checkbook stored in a drawer.

Police said the checks were forged and deposited in Virginia.
