Two injured in Blythe Township crash

Two people were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 10 p.m. Monday on Silver Creek Road in Blythe Township.

State police at Frackville said the collision occurred when Ashley C. Long, 20, of Reading, driving a 2010 Dodge Avenger, was westbound and lost control of the vehicle entering a right-handed curve. The vehicle went off the road and impacted a dirt embankment, then continued about 20 feet off a 20-foot embankment, impacting with the ground with its front bumper.

Long and a passenger, Amanda L. Biel, 26, of New Philadelphia, sustained minor and moderate injuries, respectively.

Police said Long was cited for careless driving.
