Schuylkill crashes investigated
State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roads over the past weekend.
A three-vehicle crash occurred at 2:50 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of routes 183 and 895 in Wayne Township. Troopers said Ramesh B. Patel, 74, of Edison, New Jersey, was driving a 2010 Lexus ES3 northbound on 183 while John Nalls, 28, of Tower City, was driving a 2000 Toyota 4Runner southbound on 183. At the intersection Patel attempted to turn left onto 895 and failed to yield to Nalls. The vehicles collided in the intersection. After impact the 4Runner struck a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Pamela A. Boweres-Long, 51, of Schuylkill Haven.
No one was injured. Troopers said Patel was cited for vehicles turning left.
A one-vehicle crash was reported at 10:05 a.m. on Sunday along Route 183 in Wayne Township. Satish C. Patel, 60, of Palmerton, was driving a 2013 Toyota Corrola northbound and attempted to negotiate a right curve in the road. The car left the road on the northbound side, entered a wood area traveling about 90 feet before colliding head-on into a tree.
Patel and his 10-year-old male passenger were injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson St., Pottsville. Troopers said Patel was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
