Driver facing DUI after crash
A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 10:05 p.m. on Friday along Route 924 (Gold Star Highway), in Gilberton borough.
State police at Frackville said Sheldon J. Buscavage, 51, of Frackville, was driving a 2000 Dodge Stratus southbound when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve in the road, causing him to lose control. The car went onto the west berm and struck a rock embankment. After impact the car overturned one time across both southbound lanes and came to rest on its wheels straddling the concrete median facing north. The vehicle had to be towed. Buscavage, who was not wearing a seat belt, was flown to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Troopers said they detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Buscavage's breath.
