Published September 05. 2015 09:00AM

One person was hurt in a two-vehicle crash at 4:31 p.m. Aug. 24 at the intersection of Neola and Bartonsville Woods roads in Jackson Township, Monroe County.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said Donald L. Teal Jr., 67, of Effort, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment.

Police said the crash happened when a 2013 Chevrolet Impala driven by Michael E. Scheel, 49, of Northampton, traveling west on Neola Road, failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and struck a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Teal. The latter was traveling north on Bartonsville Woods Road at the time.

Police said Scheel was cited for a stop sign violation.
