Tamaqua man facing drug count
A Tamaqua man was cited for marijuana possession after he was observed rolling his own joint in public.
At 1:29 p.m. Aug. 7 police were patrolling in the area of the Tamaqua Train Station when one of the officers saw a man rolling a joint.
He notified his partner, and the officers went to the north side of the station. There they found Justin Ramel Baldwin Vereen, 21, sitting on a railroad cart. In his hand was a brown, rolled cigarette.
The officer asked Vereen for the rest of the marijuana, which he denied having.
However, a pat-down search turned up a bag of vegetable matter tucked in the waistband of his pants. The vegetable matter field tested positive for marijuana.
Vereen was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
