Woman cited 3 times by police

Published September 09. 2015 05:37AM

A New Ringgold woman was charged by Tamaqua police three times in August.

Allison Jade Sanders, 26, who formerly lived in Nesquehoning, was first cited on Aug. 5 for retail theft. On that day she took an energy drink and placed it in her purse at the Fegley Mini Mart on Center Street.

On Aug. 26, at 5:25 p.m., Sanders was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation.

A records check showed an active arrest warrant issued by Carbon County officials. While taking her into custody officers found syringes and spoons in her purse, charging her with possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was transferred to the custody of Lansford police.

Then, on Aug. 31, Tamaqua police received a call concerning a woman walking in Depot Square Park with a needle sticking out of her arm. The woman was described as wearing a gray sweater and blue jeans, carrying a red and white purse.

When officers responded they found Sanders sitting in front of 18 Mauch Chunk St. She was wearing a gray sweater and blue jeans and had a red and white purse.

There was no needle in her arm, but the purse contained three hypodermic needles and a spoon with cotton stuck to it. She was again charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
