Easy or difficult? There's a trail for you

If you're outfitted and ready to roll, here are some of the hiking trails in our area:

Beltzville State Park, Franklin and Towamensing townships: 15 miles of trails, wooded paths, old roads and mowed walkways through forests, creek valleys and fields.

Jacobson Environmental Education Center, between Wind Gap and Easton: 18.5 miles of trails through woodlands and streams.

Hickory Run State Park, White Haven: 43 miles of trails historic and scenic trails

Lehigh Gorge State Park, Jim Thorpe: 26 miles of trails, steep and treacherous terrain with fast moving water. Moderate level

Locust Lake State Park, near Frackville: 6.75 miles of trails through forest and up hills

Tuscarora State Park, near Mahanoy City: 9 miles of trails include forest, meadow and agricultural fields.

Big Pocono State Park, near Stroudsburg: 8.5 miles of trail, mountain top trails with steep grades. Moderate level

Delp Overlook, Appalachian Trail connection near Bowmanstown: 6.7 miles of trail high elevation steep ledges.

Delaware Water Gap, Monroe County: 5.3 miles of trails. Moderate level

Bake Oven Knob, Germansville, on top of Blue Mountain: 9.5 miles of trails over mountain top. Moderate level
