Burglary, car theft in Schuylkill

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a burglary that led to the theft of a motor vehicle.

Troopers said a residence at 37 Chestnut St., Cressona, was entered. Once inside the criminals took two sets of vehicle keys and $20 in cash. They then went outside and attempted to start a Jeep Cherokee but could not do so. They then went to a blue 2005 Chevrolet Impala and started it and fled the scene in the vehicle.

The victims of the burglary and car theft are a 30-year-old man from Cressona, and a 46-year-old woman from Pottsville. The incident occurred sometime between 1 and 2 p.m. on Friday.
