Results of checkpoint in Schuylkill

State police at Schuylkill Haven released information on a sobriety checkpoint conducted over the weekend in Cressona. The checkpoint was operated from 9 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. on Saturday.

During the checkpoint a total of 497 motorists were stopped.

One motorist was arrested for driving under the influence; one was arrested on a drug charge; eight traffic citations were issued; one motorist was cited for driving with a suspended license-DUI related; and 30 written warnings were handed out.
