Published April 02. 2016 09:00AM

A Saylorsburg driver is facing charges in Lehigh County following an incident at 6:38 p.m. March 3 on Interstate 78.

State police at Fogelsville said Robert Givey, 41, was stopped for multiple traffic violations. He was found to have recently used heroin and ingested unprescribed drugs and then drove his vehicle.

Givey's girlfriend, not identified, was inside his vehicle in the process of overdosing on prescription drugs. She was located in the front passenger seat unresponsive and drooling on herself, troopers said. Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene and she was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

Charges were filed against Givey.
