Starr and Kenneth Scherer celebrate 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Scherer of Lehighton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married March 26, 1966, at Ben Salem Church in Andreas by the Rev. Carl Alexy.

Mrs. Scherer is the former Starr Neifert, daughter of the late Edgar and Mabel Neifert of Andreas. Her husband is the son of the late Robert and Margaret Scherer of Bowmanstown.

They have three children: Janice Scherer of Lehighton; Brian Scherer, also of Lehighton; and Brenda Mertz, and her husband, Tom, of Lititz.

They have four grandchildren: Tessah, Billy, Cody and Nathan.

A family dinner to celebrate will be held at Macaluso's Restaurant in Nesquehoning.
