Vehicle stop leads to Coaldale arrest
A vehicle stop in Coaldale on March 4 almost landed Terrence Lamar Moore, 38, of Lansford, a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Moore was a passenger in a black Kia that was stopped for a traffic violation on East Ridge Street. When his identification was checked against the national database it was learned there was a warrant for his arrest issued by Las Vegas authorities. While checking on the warrant officers found empty wax paper bags in his jacket pocket. That led officers to search the area of the Kia where Moore had been sitting. There they found a blue eyeglass case containing syringes and a bag containing a powdery substance, which tested positive for heroin.
When Las Vegas authorities declined to extradite him, Moore was released, cited for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
