Slatington driver facing DUI count

A Slatington driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence in Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Karel A. Mikolas, 76, was driving a 2009 Ford Ranger pickup eastbound along Memorial Drive, at the intersection with Herbert Drive in Lynn Township, at 8:25 p.m. Saturday. Troopers said he veered his truck into an embankment, flipping it over onto the passenger side. It came to rest facing east in a ditch. Mikolas had to be extricated from the truck by rescue personnel. He did not receive any medical treatment, according to the police report.

He will be charge with DUI, troopers said.
