Man facing DUI charges in Eldred
A 36-year-old man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after state police at the Lehighton barracks said he was observed sleeping in his vehicle which was sitting off the roadway with its engine running.
The incident took place at 3:05 a.m.Thursday on the Kunkletown Road in Eldred Township.
Police said after it was determined the man was driving under the influence, he was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County DUI Center for further processing. Police said the charges are pending blood alcohol results. His name was not released.
