Minor injuries result from two-vehicle crash

A Palmerton man had minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 2 p.m. Tuesdayat the intersection of Route 209 and Burger Hollow Road in Polk Township.

State police at Lehighton said one of the drivers of the vehicles involved in the crash, Jacob D. Troost, 59, was treated at the scene for injuries by West End EMS.

Police said the crash occurred when a 2000 Dodge Neon driven southbound on Burger Hollow Road by John S. Drury, 19, of Saylorsburg, failed to stop for a steady red light, traveled through the intersection and struck a 2013 Toyota Camry operated by Troost northbound on Route 209.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Drury was cited for failure to stop for a red traffic signal.
