Man cited for drug possession

Shane R. Rex, 27, of West Water Street, Lansford, was cited by Coaldale Police after an incident on July 28.

Officers received a call about a suspicious vehicle parked in the woods at the bottom of Kline Hill at 6:27 p.m. There were two people in the car.

The driver said she parked in the woods because she needed to urinate. She gave the officer permission to search the car.

The passenger, Rex, said he had a few pocket knives, then gave the officer permission to conduct a search. During the search, a small amount of suspected marijuana, a pipe and several loose pills were found.

Rex was cited for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a misbranded/falsely labeled controlled substance.
