The Black Lillies Blossom In Concert
The Black Lillies will be appearing at Jim Thorpe's Mauch Chunk Opera House at 8 p.m. Aug. 12.
The group is a band for the ages, performing rich, rootsy tunes with as much heart as technical virtuosity.
Rolling Stone describes their music as "country with a soul-rock infusion, supported by bandleader Cruz Contreras' smart songwriting and tight musicianship." Last October, the band released its fourth album, "Hard to Please," which American Songwriter sums up as "a soulful mix of upbeat Americana and tender ballads," while Vanity Fair notes that "their sound continues to cross generations and musical genres - country, folk, blues and add in a touch of the Dead, for good measure."
