Retail thefts

Recent retail theft arrests include:

• Tamaqua police cited Amanda Lynn Cope, 27, of Hunter Street, Tamaqua, after an incident at Fegley's Mini Mart, 30-32 Center St. on July 22.

Cope, who has two prior convictions for shoplifting, attempted to steal a pastry and a Rice Krispies Treat by hiding them in her purse.

She was charged with a felony count of retail theft.

• Humberto Figueroa, 57, of Hunter Street, Tamaqua, was cited for retail theft on July 25. He tried to steal bottles of Aleve and Motrin pain relievers from Boyers Food Mart, 210 Cedar St. The over-the-counter medications were valued at $40.02.

• Nikita Karpo, 24, Joshua Storms, 25, and Joanna Amundson, 29, all of Ross Township, were charged by State police at the Lehighton barracks after an incident on July 29. They were caught removing merchandise from the Dollar General Store, 655 Interchange Road, Kresgeville, at 8:43 p.m.

• State police at Schuylkill Haven cited George T. Rohrbach, 49, of Schuylkill Haven, after he was caught shoplifting at Redner's Warehouse Market, North Manheim Township. The theft occurred at 4:30 p.m. on July 27.

He concealed a Gillette deodorant and two Oral B toothbrushes and attempted to leave the store without paying for them.

Rohrbach was charged with a felony charge of retail theft, arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Plachko and committed to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, in lieu of $5,000 bail.
