Schnecksville native wins in design competition
Meghan Preiss, industrial and service design student in The Savannah College of Art and Design wins International Design Award.
Preiss received a gold IDA in the category of media and home electronics and an honorable mention. IDA awards are given to the best emerging talent in architecture, interior, product, graphic and fashion design worldwide.
Preiss won an IDA award for her design of "Oculus," a semiautonomous camera that captures a user and their surroundings.
Oculus was recognized as one of the best in emerging product design worldwide.
Preiss will be recognized at the biannual IDA Winner's Gala in May 2017 for her project "Oculus," a thrust vector-powered, spherical, semiautonomous camera. The camera captures images of the user and their surroundings from every vantage point.

IDA juries reviewed more than 1,000 entries to find the top designers, evaluating them on creativity, design, usability and innovation. Preiss will also receive publication of her work in the IDA's Book of Designs.
