Large amount of cash stolen in Saylorsburg

The theft of approximately $16,000 in cash from a residence in Monroe County is being investigated by state police at the Lehighton barracks.

The victim is a 60-year-old Saylorsburg man who resides in the 100 block of Kendall Street, Saylorsburg, Ross Township.

Police said it was reported by the victim that the theft took place between 4 p.m. Aug. 3 and 10:30 a.m. Aug. 7 when someone removed the cash from the victim's safe.
