New Tripoli man faces DUI, drug charges

Madison Kubat, 27, ofWerley's Corner Road, New Tripoli, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and narcotics violations as a result of an incident at 7:30 a.m. July 22 in Upper Macungie Township.

Township police said they were summoned at that time to the intersection of Route 100 and Schantz Road in reference to a driver apparently asleep at the wheel of a vehicle.

Through the investigation, it was determined Kubat was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance.

He was arrested, after which time a search conducted by police resulted in officers locating approximately 18 grams of suspected marijuana in the vehicle.
