Teen arrested in Schuylkill burglary

A Schuylkill County teen has been charged with the burglary of two county businesses.

State police at Schuylkill Have said the break-in occurred on July 27 about 3 a.m. at Trixie's Home Goods/Better Brands, located at 13 Front St., Cressona. The rear glass door window was smashed and the suspect removed an undisclosed amount of cash that was stored in both businesses' cash register drawers and other containers. A jewelry loop was also stolen.

After an investigation was conducted and the money was discovered in the home of a 17-year-old male, along with the jewelry loop. He later confessed to the crime, troopers said.

All the stolen property was returned. Charges were filed through the Schuylkill County Juvenile Probation Office.
