Owner of found firearm sought

State police at Frackville are looking for the owner of a shotgun that was found in a Schuylkill County residence.

Troopers said the landlord for a property at 9 Kaska St., in Middleport, was cleaning out the home which was previously rented when she discovered a 12-gauge shotgun behind a piece of furniture in the home. The discovery was made Aug. 9. On Aug. 10 the landlord turned the firearm over to troopers.

The incident remains under investigation until the proper owner of the firearm is located, troopers said.
