Cholesterol program planned

Blue Mountain Health System will recognize National Cholesterol Education Month with a cholesterol screening and educational session "Cholesterol: Know Your Numbers" from 1-3 p.m. on Sept. 7 in the community room at the Gnaden Huetten campus, 211 N. 12th St. in Lehighton.

A shingles vaccine event, for people who are uninsured or underinsured, will be held from 2-3 p.m.

During the program, participants will look at total blood cholesterol, which doctors use when determining your risk for heart disease and how to manage it.
