Man cited after fight over shotgun

Published August 30. 2016 12:35PM

A New Ringgold man was cited by Tamaqua police after a disturbance on Aug. 19.

Officers were called to Boyle Avenue at 7 p.m. for a fight in progress. They contacted the homeowner, who said Robert Maurice Valentine, 48, of Rocky Lane, New Ringgold, had just left after a disagreement over a shotgun. Valentine wanted to take possession of the shotgun despite being on probation and prohibited from possessing a weapon.

He became unruly, shoving and cursing at the other man, refusing to leave despite being told to do so several times. It was only when another person called police that Valentine left the premises.

He was cited for defiant trespass and disorderly conduct.
