Federal prison visitor arrested with drugs

A visitor to the federal correctional institution in Butler Township, Schuylkill County, has been arrested and jailed on drug charges.

State police at Frackville said William Bonilla, 51, of Allentown, arrived at the federal prison, located off Interstate 81 at Route 901, at 10:20 a.m. on Friday to visit an inmate at the prison. Before the visitation Bonilla was searched. He had multiple packages of controlled substances.

Troopers said he planned on passing the drugs onto an inmate at the prison.

He was arraigned before on-call District Judge Christina Hale, of Frackville, on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and contraband to a prison. He was committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $25,000 bail.
