I-81 traffic halted after rig crashes
Traffic on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County was shut down southbound for about three hours after a crash Tuesday at 1:42 p.m. near mile marker 107.9 in Frailey Township.
State police at the Frackville barracks said George Verrett, 23, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the driver of a tractor trailer involved in the incident, was transported to the Reading Hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained.
Police said he was driving a 2012 Freightliner that went out of control and rolled onto its side, crashing into a series of guard rails west of the roadway and completely blocking both southbound lanes of traffic.
