Published February 15. 2016 04:00PM

A 54-year-old Kunkletown woman is facing theft of services charges after it was discovered she tampered with an electrical meter at her home to stop or slow down the recording of usage of electrical services.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said PPL Electric is the victim of the incident that took place between Oct. 4, 2015, and Feb. 2.

Police said the woman, who lives in the 9000 block of Sherwood Road in the township, installed an illegal wire switch in the back of the electrical meter, causing it to stop or slow down in numerous days, resulting in no usage, or minimal usage, of electricity being recorded.
