Slushy road conditions blamed for crash

Published February 17. 2016 04:00PM

Slushy road conditions Tuesday morning were blamed for a one-vehicle crash in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Gayle R. Heath, 60, of Cressona, was driving a 2000 Mercury Sable northbound on Route 209 in New Philadelphia borough at 5:45 a.m. She failed to negotiate a left curve due to slushy road conditions with the car going onto the east berm and striking a mailbox and a PPL utility pole. The car came to rest against the pole.

Heath was not injured and was wearing a seat belt.
