Carbon driver's car hit by crash debris
A Carbon County driver's car was struck by debris from a crash along Interstate 78 in Salisbury Township, Lehigh County. State police at Fogelsville said the crash occurred about 11:11 a.m. on Feb. 18. Troopers said Calixte Joseph, 47, of Carlisle, Cumberland County, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Envoy eastbound in the furthest left lane. He attempted to move into the middle lane, of the three-lane road, when he observed another vehicle in the middle lane. He then moved back to the furthest left lane. Joseph lost control of his vehicle with the front driver's side striking the middle concrete barrier. The Envoy drove onto the barrier and began to roll counter-clockwise before coming to rest in the median. Debris from the crash struck a 2012 Kia Soul operated by Vasyl Cheplskyy, 37, of Lansford, who was in the furthest left lane.
No one was injured. Joseph was cited for the crash.
