Published February 22. 2016 04:01PM

Two tractor-trailers collided along Interstate 81 in West Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County, at 12:04 p.m. on Friday.

State police at Frackville said Edgardo L. Espaillat, 24, of Wilkes-Barre, was driving a 2005 International Harvester tractor with trailer northbound in the right lane when he observed a rig in front of him entering the interstate from Route 61. He began to move into the left lane where his rig struck a 1996 Kenworth Northwest tractor with trailer operated by Joshua J. Kunz, 32, of Oswego, New York. Espaillat's rig struck the passenger side of Kunz's truck. Impact caused Kunz's rig to jackknife and come to rest along the east berm.

Espaillat and passengers Wayne L. Bell, 19, and Emmanuel J. Williams, 24, both of Wilkes-Barre, all sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Kunz was not injured.

Troopers cited Espaillat for the crash.
