Tractor-trailer rig crashes on I-81

A tractor-trailer rig crashed along Interstate 81 in Foster Township, Schuylkill County, on Wednesday.

State police at Frackville said Carl Pickens III, 25, of Philadelphia, was operating a Western Express rig northbound at 2:35 a.m. when he lost control while negotiating a right-hand curve. The tractor struck the guide rail along the west berm damaging about 400 feet of it.

The truck then overturned onto the driver's side and came to rest along the west embankment facing east.

Pickens was not injured. He was cited for the crash, troopers added.
