Two men arrested in Tamaqua incident
Two men were arrested in Tamaqua on Feb. 21 as borough police assisted Lansford police searching for a suspect in a domestic incident.
Lansford police put out an alert asking other departments to be on the lookout for John Phillip Wagner, 38, of 333 Spruce St., Tamaqua. Wagner had been involved in a domestic dispute and had fled the scene. Thealert indicated he possibly had a handgun and heroin in his possession.
Being somewhat familiar with Wagner, Tamaqua police looked for him at 71 Bowe St. when they didn't find him at his home. That's where they found his vehicle, parked outside Nancy Cole's residence.
When officers knocked on the door a man ran upstairs. Officers continued to knock on the door until it was answered by Michael Sedlock, who admitted Wagner was somewhere in the house. Cole and Sedlock gave officers permission to search the premises.
They found a male, identified as Jesse Lincovich, hiding under some covers in a closet. Lincovich told them Wagner was in the attic, where he was found and arrested. Wagner was turned over to Lansford police.
Lincovich was arrested on outstanding warrants. When searched before transport he was found to have two bundles of heroin in his left pants pocket, for which he will be charged with possession of a controlled substance.
He was arraigned before duty District Judge James Reilly, of Pottsville, on the felony warrants. Bail was set at $10,000 percentage, which he was unable to post, earning him a bed in the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville.
