Published January 12. 2016 04:00PM

A Schuylkill County driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash that was reported at 8:30 a.m. Friday along Zerbe Street in Cressona.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Harold Dehappart, 73, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2013 Toyota Prius northbound. The roadway was ice-covered at the time when the vehicle began to slide while Dehappart was negotiating a left-hand curve.

The Prius went onto the berm and into the backyard at 7 Graeff St. It traveled across the backyard for about 30 feet before the front of the vehicle struck the southwest corner of the residence at 7 Graeff St. The residence sustained heavy damages, troopers said, but no one inside the home was injured.

Dehappart sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street in Pottsville. Troopers said he was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
