McAdoo driver facing DUI count

Patrick Taylor of McAdoo was cited by McAdoo police after a traffic stop on Nov. 2.

Taylor was driving on South Hancock Street at 9:58 p.m. when the darkly tinted windows on his black Volkswagen caught the attention of officers on patrol. The VW pulled into the lot of a convenience store, where officers made contact with the driver, who was identified as Taylor.

A strong odor of marijuana emanated from the car. Taylor initially denied smoking marijuana, changed it to earlier in the day, then admitted it was right before he started driving.

He was cited for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
