Woman steals cough medicine, condoms

Venessa Susan Hauptly, 22, of 311 W. Market St., Pottsville, was cited by Tamaqua police after a shoplifting incident on Jan. 11.

Hauptly entered the Family Dollar Store, 125 Center St., shortly after 5 p.m. She picked up a bottle of Delsym cough medicine and a pack of LifeStyles condoms, then left the store without paying. Once outside she entered a black Volkswagen, bearing state license JYB-7389. The VW was driven by a male.

The stolen items are valued at $15.30. As Hauptly has two prior convictions for retail theft, the Tamaqua charges were filed as a felony offense.
