Shoplifter sought in Schuylkill County

A shoplifter who stole clothing from a Schuylkill County department store is being sought.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred at Boscov's Department store in the Fairlane Village Mall, Norwegian Township, at 12:47 p.m. Jan. 12. A suspect was observed carrying several items of clothing through the store, then began walking toward the garden center exit. Loss prevention employees attempted to stop the suspect, but he fled on foot out of the store without paying for the items. The suspect was observed entering the passenger side of an older model Ford Explorer and fleeing the scene.

The suspect was described as being a white male, possibly between 30 and 40 years old, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 250 pounds, with a handlebar mustache. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-739-1330.
