Hit-and-run driver sought in Schuylkill

A hit-and-run driver is being sought in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said a older model Chevrolet pickup truck was driven northbound on Mahanoy Street in North Union Township about 5 a.m. on Monday when the driver lost control negotiating a right curve. The truck left the road and struck a utility pole with its front end causing major damage to the pole. The truck became stuck in the snow. A witness related to troopers that a dark pickup truck was observed attempting to pull the crashed truck out of the snow. The crashed truck was pulled from the snow and the driver then fled the scene.

Troopers said the truck should have heavy damage to the front end. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-874-5300.
