Traffic stop yields DUI arrest in Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks made a traffic stop at 11:23 p.m. Fridayin the area of Bridge Street in Lehighton, which resulted in a 26-year-old woman from Lehighton being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The stop was made for a Motor Vehicle Code violation near South Seventh Street, after which time the operator was taken for a blood test.

Police said the charges will be filed pending laboratory test results.
