Man charged with stealing phone

Tamaqua Police have cited John D. Buckingham, 25, of 214 Pine St., Tamaqua, in connection with the theft of a phone.

The victim contacted police at 10:33 p.m. on May 29 to report that a phone was taken from his mail and the theft was caught on a security camera. Buckingham was identified as the thief.

Officers were able to recover the phone and charged Buckingham with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
