Minor injury reported in Schuylkill crash

One person sustained a minor injury in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 7:40 a.m. Sunday along Mountain Road in North Union Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Sophia M. Levardi, 17, of Sugarloaf, Luzerne County, was driving a 2011 Ford Escape southbound and up a hill and rounding a right curve when she steered toward the right, striking a stone-face embankment along theberm. The Escape rolled onto its driver's side and slid into the northbound lane, where it came to rest.

Levardi's passenger, Patrick Levardi, 19, of Sheppton, sustained small cuts to his left arm but did not need immediate medical attention. Sophia Levardi was not injured. She was cited for the crash.
